(often foll. by with) (esp. of a thing) be in harmony; be consistent. 2 tr. a grant (permission, a request, etc.). b give (a welcome etc.). --n. 1 agreement, consent. 2 harmony or harmonious correspondence in pitch, tone, colour, etc. Phrases and idioms of one's own accord on one's own initiative; voluntarily. with one accord unanimously; in a united way.
